Ganderbal, Jan 07 (KNO): The residents of Anderwan, Zaban B in Kangan area of Ganderbal district, have raised concerns about the unsafe electricity supply in their area as the wires are currently tied to trees due to the lack of proper electricity poles, creating a safety risk. “While the government claims to offer free electricity, the residents are more concerned about a reliable power supply and are willing to pay for it. Attempts to contact local authorities, including the Power Development Department, have not resulted in action,” the residents told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). The residents appealed to the Central Government and the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir for help. Power Department officials have assured that funds have been allocated to fix the issue, with work set to begin soon. The local MLA has also promised to address the problem in the next financial year, depending on available funds. The residents are urging the authorities to act quickly and provide a safer and more consistent power supply—(KNO)
